SUMMARY:Siesta Key Crystal Classic Sand Sculpting Festival
DESCRIPTION:Every November\, 24 international artists come to Siesta Key\, Florida\, to compete in this Master Sand Sculpting competition. The sculptors create a large community carve and 12 team masterpieces from tons of sand. This year we will be adding 4 additional sculptures as we hold both a doubles and solo competition on Siesta Key Beach.\n\nThe timed competition is judged and the winners are revealed on Sunday afternoon.\n\nIn the Learning Curve tents\, sand sculpting lessons and demonstrations are hosted twice a day\, Friday through Monday. And there's more than sand at this festival: four days of live music under the huge entertainment tent\; Quick Sand - an ongoing contest of speed and skill\; the Amateur Competition on Saturday\; the Barefoot Beach Bar party tent is open all 4 days with music and a full bar along with the Vendor Village featuring 70 food and retail vendors. The festival offers beach wheelchairs for accessibility all 4 days and are available at the sidewalk before the sand entrance by the check in kiosk an viewing tent. A beach mat will not be installed in 2018 therefore\, one must be able to traverse through the sand to walk through the festival if a beach wheelchair is not used.\n\nThe sand sculptures appear under colored lights on Saturday and Sunday nights this year. Come and vote for your favorite sculpture by depositing quarters or bills ($1 is 4 votes but so is $5 - you can increase your votes with quarters - change is available on the sand inside the festival) - you can help determine the Peoples' Choice award.
