Former SNN-TV Anchor Launches No Blues News

'Good News Only' Newscast will host a kickoff fundraiser May 11, open to the public.

Introducing No Blues News (NBN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the good news that's happening all around us. Founded by Hallie Peilet Young, a former local news reporter who left the industry to tell stories at local nonprofit The Haven, No Blues News seeks to uplift and inspire through stories of hope, kindness, and progress.

After spending four years in local television, Young realized that while there were plenty of negative stories to cover, there was also a wealth of positive news that wasn't getting the attention it deserved. From heartwarming acts of kindness to innovative solutions to social and environmental issues, there was a lot of good happening in the world that wasn't being shared.

"As a journalist, I saw firsthand the power that negative news can have on people's perception of the world," Young said. "But I also saw the incredible impact that positive stories can have, both on an individual level and on a broader scale. By sharing stories of hope, kindness, and progress, we can uplift and inspire others to be their best selves and make a difference in their communities. That's why it's so important to have a platform like No Blues News, where we can showcase the good that's happening in the world and remind people that there is always reason for hope."

No Blues News will distribute its newscasts digitally beginning June 2023, with opportunities for local advertisers. The launch event will be held at Parkinson Place, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd., Ste. 100, Sarasota, FL 34232; from 6-8pm.
